This was the first trip I had taken to Africa with Pastor Ed Hildebrand of Seine River Church, Lorette, Manitoba, Canada. Although there were plans to have us involved in the various conferences of this trip we had no idea how much we would have to work. Almost right away one ofthe members came done with Malaria, and Pastor ed, who had planned on speaking maybe 3 or 4 times had to speak everyday of the trip. Soon I came done with Malaria and was out of action for a couple of days. Out of the 6 members, 4 of us were stricken with the disease. Pastor Ed escaped the disease.

The place depicted in the photos is located just outside Mbarara, Uganda. The area is called Itarra which is located about 7 hours to the west of the capital of Kampala. Here, Pastor Joseph Bataringaya and his wife Josephine started their church. Humble beginnings but greater things were about to happen.
